Suhani woke to a blade of sunlight slipping past the curtains, landing hot and bright across her eyes. She stirred, feeling the cushion of a mattress soft, and an air of calm clinging to the room. A fragrance lingered...citrusy with a hint of sandalwood...something that felt fresh, almost feminine in its luxury.
Blinking herself awake, she turned her head and let her gaze travel. The room wasn't hers. White and cream stretched across the walls, simple shelves lined with woven baskets and potted greens, a faint bohemian touch without being overdone. It was warm, minimal, lived-in in a way her own bedroom had never been. Her brows knit together.
